Greetings to all stakeholders and May the Lord be with you all. Let me use this opportunity to welcome you to the noble institution of the Morant Bay High school. We are proud to be the number one high school in the region, holding firm as our motto: Carpe Diem (Seize the opportunity).
We are fully aware that the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has made for an anxious time for many members of our community, especially those who have pre-existing health conditions and family members who are deemed as members of the high-risk groups.
We, as an institution, have 59 years of history packed with significant milestones in maneuvering periods of crisis and uncertainty. The COVID-19 pandemic, although looking gloom and doom at this time, is no different. Let us focus, as always, on pulling up our bootstraps in helping one another, more so our valued students and other stakeholder, in keeping safe and healthy with our minds focused on our mission.
We have made several adjustments on our plant to ensure the safety of our students and employees along with their families. Wash stations, hand sanitizing stations and various signs have been erected in strategic locations in keeping with our mandate of ensuring safety for all stakeholders.
Let me thank all who have contributed in cash or kind in aiding us in making the necessary preparations for the reopening of school this coming September 2020. The senior management team has been working assiduously in communicating information to the relevant persons in order to facilitate a smooth reopening process. I implore you to keep safe, always wear your mask, stay away from crowded gatherings, stay home as far as is possible and sanitize, sanitize.
I look forward to your continued support as we work together to build Morant Bay High school into an oasis of possibilities.
